Courseulles sur Mer

The Regina Rifles, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and tanks from the 1st Hussars landed here on D Day.  Their objective was to capture the town and push inland.  “A” Company, part of Regina Rifles suffered the largest casualties of any Canadian assault companies on D Day. Today, Couseulles sur Mer is a pretty fishing port on the eastern bank of the   River Seulles where you can see a restored duplex drive tank near the harbour wall. Visible from Courseulles sur Mer, on the western bank of the River Seulles and close to the landing beaches of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and Canadian Scottish is the Juno Beach Centre.
