Longues sur Mer

Longues sur Mer was the home to German coastal artillery battery which sat  high on the cliffs between Gold and Omaha Beach.

It was one of the first batteries to open fire on D Day morning and was involved in a duel with HMS Ajax throughout 6th June 1944.

Today you can still see the coastal battery with guns in place and visit the forward observation point sitting high on the cliff.
